Default LR4 Sunroof front drain holes - different than LR3 location

Just like the title.. for the life of me I can’t seem to find the front drain holes on a 2012 LR4 5litre.

I did manage to find them, but unfortunately one of my drain pipe hoses has disconnected in the sunroof on the passenger side. I used string trimmer line to fish, and it popped out the other side of the sunroof closest to the door.

how do I access the underside of the headliner corner to get to see why the drain line has dislodged itself?

I assume remove the a pillar cover, then clips of some sort to pop down on the passenger side of the headliner.

appreciate the steps and walk through.

the workshop manual lays out the process nicely. Essentially you are correct
All pillar moldings
All Hand Holds
All roof mounted consoles.
And finally the weather strip.

Work from front to rear. If just dealing with the front drain lines, there is no need to remove the headliner, just drop to the second row seats.
FYI, I can have the entire headliner out within 30 mins. Though daunting at first glance, its an easy job.

Thank you for the reply.

I just need access to the front passenger sun roof drain line.

Could you clarify what you mean by just dropping the second row seats for accessing the front drain line? (My coffee hasn’t kicked in yet)

oh, and can I not just get under the front area of the headliner to get access to where I need to, or is it better to drop the whole headliner?

To be clear, you will need to remove the A-pillar, handles, consoles,
cowl cover, (if you are replacing the line)
and drop/pull back the headliner, just at the front of the vehicle. Stopping just behind the front seats.

I was able to unclog the driver’s side tubing, but the passenger side will not drain.

I ran trimmer line down the length but something is clogging the drain nipple / exit. I was able to get to it by pulling the vent off and see it, but nothing is coming out the bottom. The top of the drain has water sitting there even with 5 to 6 feet of trimmer line being down that tube. I tried re-seating / fishing the line numerous time and agitated it… no flow

Are there any other tips to unclog the line with something else?

Yeah…. I went through that too.
My process was
1 remove the line
2 clear all fittings, and the line with compressed air (I got that tip from someone else)
3 reassemble.

I saw the post in the LR3 section by TomR with using compressed air.

Thanks for the help guy!

Do me a favor and use the “like” link. It’s one of my life’s little pleasures, lol.
