I hear about this sticky **** situation often. I wonder how it all gets started as I have never had the issue…. Is it a case of some kind of product or chemical that initiates this deterioration?

I only clean the interior with a mild, organic ph balanced soap lightly added to a bucket of warm water. Then a “rinse” by using a well ringed out cloth dipped clear cool water with a very small amount of vinegar. This seems to have worked as none of my vehicles have shedding, sticky buttons.

fwiw.

Default sticky climate control ***** LR4

I used the rubbing alcohol method on the sticky climate control ***** and it worked great!! They were so sticky...I thought they had melted. Thank you for the tip. I just purchased a 2010 LR4 with 124,000 miles...hope it runs a long time! Thanks!
