Default Navigation TMC Issues...

The navigation unit has not displayed any TMC events in over a week and the icon has a red line through it. While this system is far from intuitive or prompt it was functioning up until the red line appeared. I currently do not have any updates and when I press the icon I get a dialogue box stating: "There is currently no TMC information available". Any ideas or suggestions? Satellite radio works, regular radio works MP3 is fine, navigation operates without issue. This is the only portion of the unit that is not functioning properly.

A few folks had trouble with that in the past. Signal is sent over FM radio from participating stations. So find a station that does TMC, tune to it on FM and run it for an hour or two and see if that works. That seems to unblock it and it should work for a while. If you never listen to FM then after some time it seems to stop working for a few people and you have to try that again
Let us know if it works

Dealer told me something similar but could not specify which FM stations broadcast. I guess I'll just leave it on the largest and most popular station in the area and see if it comes to life again. Thanks for the assistance.

Default Try Clear Channel

As far as I know, the US RDS-TMC broadcast is all done by Clear Channel. I would probably look for any popular HD Clear Channel station in the area and try to tolerate the music for a couple hours.

Good luck.

Tried that. No luck. On other vehicles I had a subscription for TMC or it was free through the RTTI program BMW offered. I never experienced this "blackout" before and it is odd that just happened out of nowhere.
