Hi Folks. Anyone know if an OEM full size Expedition rack from a new Defender would fit on an LR4? Dimensions for the platform seem right, maybe needs different towers or feet? Any help is appreciated.

I have seen at new Defender rack on an LR4.

Was in the parking lot and I did not get an up close look at it but no custom adaptors and anything non-stock was showing. Look like it was seamlessly put on there.

 

Thanks for the reply! Not a hot topic here, but could be an interesting option. I will dig deeper with JLR and see what I can come up with.

 

I know the roof rails on the Defender are a bit wider than the ones on the LR3 or LR4. The Defender racks use those and do not bolt directly into the roof. You would have to grind down the feet to fit into your rails, and the measurements are pretty close if I recall.

 

Thanks for the help here folks. The local (cheap) listing I looked at has since disappeared. Hope it pops up again or the thread can help someone else.

 

I asked JLR parts and they said no-go. Some form of customization would be required.
