parking brake service mode?
Hello all,
I have accumulated all of the parts to replace the EPB shoes, springs, adjusters etc and am ready to start the job but i understand vehicle [2011 LR4 HSE] needs to be put into service mode. The car has the pusbutton start. Does anyone have the detailed instructions for this? I managed to find some online for an LR4 with standard key ignition but not push button start.
Thanks

no responsed so i will update. I did service the parking brakes last weekend. I removed the EPB fuse and suspension fuse, then raised the rear of the car onto jack stands. Used large C clamp to loosen calipers and removed them. clicked the parking brake shoe adjusters back a couple of notches and removed the rotors. dissasembled the shoes, adjusters, springs etc. cleaned all parts put new adjusters, springs etc. Shoes showed like no wear so cleaned with brake cleaner and re-installed. used synthetic grease on touch points inside of adjusters and cable ends. cleaned rotors and reinstalled. adjusted shoes until rotors were stopped. adjusted until reached about 40lb ft of resistance then backed off 8 clicks. loosened small adjuster hex screw..centered shoes etc. and retorqued to 6 lb ft. reinstalled calipers and wheels etc. lowered car. reinstalled fuses and pumped foot break to seat pads. drove and testes EPB..works perfectly now.
BTW, i did purchase Gap IId tool but it had not arrived until after i completed. Dont really think the "service mode" is required unless EPB is stuck on or rotors cannot be removed. Your mileage may vary
