Default Transfer Case

Hey Everyone,

I have a 2011 LR4 and my transfer case recently blew, so I'm in need of a new one! Does anybody know if the t-case from a '12 Range Rover sport will work on the LR4?

Thanks in advance.

Hugh

Sure will. Its actually compatible all the way back to 2005 LR3 and 2006 RRS.

You can search this part number:

LR049160

I have one from an LR3 I could sell you if you are interested. Not sure what shipping would be to Canada.

Thank you for the reply Abran. I managed to get one from a '13 LR4, will let you know how I get on.

I had a wine for a few days and just before getting it in for a service then the transfer case blew. hopefully this one will last longer!

Seems unlucky to have one fail. What type of miles were on the original and was the fluid changed? Di the T Case get submerged at any point?

It just turned 140,000kms, was about to get the fluids changed along with the transmission and transfer case. I haven't submerged it for a year or so, even then it was very shallow.

Any other major services due now? About to replace my front lower control arms too.

Thanks!

Spark plugs if they have not been done and have a good look at the accessory belt.

Doing the Spark plugs after all this is done! Will have a look at the accessory belt too.

Thanks,

Hugh
