Default Valve Cover Brand

Need to take care of oil leaks. I know there is a valve cover, vacuum pump, and maybe a crankshaft seal leak. Now my question is are Mahle clevite brand seals good? What brand of the mid range price products are good? Any recommendations or tricks?

We do a lot of valve covers at our shop. Also see a lot of vehicles that come from other shops that have had valve cover seals done.

We have found 2 things:

- Just changing valve cover seals does not last. Our theory is that the plastic warps and when new seals have been put on and the cover is bolted down, it usually starts to leak within 6 months.

- Non genuine valve covers always leak on the driver side at the back.

We now only use Genuine Land Rover new valve covers.

Good luck
