Default 1994 disco efi to 4bbl carb?

Hey yall.
well im new to landrover and before i bought my 1994 disco i was die hard chevy. there wasnt anyway you could get me to drive anything not made in the u.s.a. but a suprise child will make you do weird things. well, here goes, i have my 1994 disco and i love the **** out of it. amazing offroad, comfy on the city streets and just overall fun as hell to throw me and my 7 other buddies in and cruise to vegas or what not. but the one thing i cant stand about it much like every other vehicle i own is electrical. my only other car is an 850 hp camaro with 4 wires under the hood not including spark plug wires. well, this disco was my first try at giving efi a shot and so far its too inconsistently unreliable. i know its odd but im constantly driving my camaro to work because the disco is broken. sounds odd since i bought a stock landrover in search of reliability. well i know carbs and tuning fuel ratios so i would like to slap on a good ol square bore 4 barrel intake on my disco and make it carburated. can anyone tell me if the edelbrock 2198 will fit on this 1994 engine. it says -1988 but i think thats becuase in 1989 they started fuel injection? if anyone know if the edelbrock 4 barrel intake will seal up to the odd angle and style of these landrover heads that would be great. if not i guess ill have to keep digging deeper into whats wrong with the injection system i have.
thanks to all whom can help. much appreciated.

see Rick Ingram's 1974.5 MGB GT with Bored and Stroked Rover V8

see The Wedge Shop - Fast. British. Reliable

The 215 cubic inch Buick / Rover block has been put in many things and more power twisted from it. The current drive train might not like it. There was even a post somewhere about a bolt on supercharger from Buick days.

Most likely this is not more common due to (1) cost, (2) labor, (3) most owners having no spare vehicles.

Of course, you may want to download the RAVE shop manual set so you can have wiring diagrams, tec. Maybe even repair your existing one.

Just remember carbs don't perform well of road, they are prone to flooding while bouncing around on the trails.

Believe it or not, it's this kind of attitude that helped destroy the American auto industry. If everyone bought for quality and value instead of loyalty, the auto industry would have felt the pains of their wasteful spending and poor quality control 20 or 30 years ago, and they would have made strides to fix the problem before it became too late. Instead they felt they had a captive market that would keep buying substandard product.

but anyway, there is a fairly recent thread on pirate4x4.com in the land rover forum about a guy wanting convert his disco to propane for off-road use, and they have listed out all of the parts needed to convert to carbs.

Rover V8's originally had carbs so it's all available to convert.
A lot of people have done the conversion, paeticularly to Range Rovets (same engine). Google is your friend.
