3.8 Perkins into Disco
Hi guys.
I have a 3.5V8 EFI Disco which, even running on LPG is costing a fortune to run. I am getting around 9.5 Mpg which with the price of LPG equates to the equivalent of under 20 Mpg compared to a diesel.
A friend has offered to give me the 3.8 liter Perkins engine out of his bus.
From what i can gather from searching the web i should get around 30 Mpg with this engine with the possibility of running on veggie oil.
However most of the information i can find refers to conversions into older sieres Land Rovers.
Does anyone have any experience with fitting this engine and is it possible to get a conversion kit?.

Check out some of the UK sites as they like to swap weird and wonderful engine/trans combo's into LR's, in Australia the favoured diesel is the 4BD1 Isuzu for earlier models but they wont pass emissions regs for fitment to a disco.
