I've run TT/TT, TT/Detroit and now selectable lockers. They were all pretty decent. If money is no object the selectable is definitely nice to have. But even with the dual TT's my truck was very capable. The only time it was not great was while trying to crawl over large rocks.

You can typically get a TT/TT or TT/Detroit setup for <$1,000 used. Although they don't come along that often. If you want gears that's going to bump it up some. But that's still better than the $2,000-$3,000 for geared selectables.

I know I see setups with gears for sale time to time for 1200+/- used so that's my target price range

Between that and the engine upgrade I want, probly my budget for the year lol

So I guess if y'all see a t/t or t/d with around 4:10 gears in my price range let me know pm or email

Makes sense. That's pretty much the setup that hummers have, even the exact same brand and model of ABS, Wabco D. The programming might be a little bit different.

I imagine that the TC takes away the need to use the brake pedal to help send traction to the other wheel... before the "slipping" wheel even make a full revolution, the TC is already grabbing the brakes on that wheel letting the TT take over.

That probably also would keep the TT from munching parts, as was mentioned above. I've always guessed that maybe the reason they do this for some people is that if you have a wheel up in the air spinning, and then you press the brakes a little, 80% off the spinning wheel forces is then sent over the wheel that has traction. I could see that being quite violent. With the D2 traction control, the wheel should be spinning a lot slower (or not at all) when the brakes grab, and transfer power. Just an idea. I could be wrong.

I have a Detroit in the rear and it's awesome. I never notice it's there except on U-turns. Even then it's only a chirp or two. The traction it adds is really great.
