My plan is to pick up a set of 03/04 headlights and retrofit a set of nice projectors in so I can run HIDs with the proper cut off to not blind everyone around me. Have a friend that just retrofitted his 4runner and I was very impressed with the projectors he chose and the cutoff they provided.

 

I installed a set of TECHMAX Mini H4 LEDs (Amazon). It has been the best upgrade I have ever done on my D1. They were developed to work with reflector style H4 housings, they have LEDs that fill the headlamp with light. They have small cooling fans on the back so, it is a tight fit.

 

I installed TECHMAX mini LEDs (amazon), they are designed for H4 reflector style housings. They have Multiple LEDs and fill the headlamp with light. Switching to LEDs is the best thing I have ever done on my D1. The ability to see at night!!!! They have a fan on the back of the LED so it is a tight fit. I have had them a year now, and have sold at least 4 other people on switching to LEDs. I did a lot of research on the best/inexpensive brand LEDs. it was between TECHMAX and HIKARI LED.
