Hood Blackout kits

i use sandpaper and a wire brush if there is rust then spray it with rustoleum... but luckily for us the hood is aluminum on the D2 so the 99 cent rattle can is fine.

...is it aluminum on the D1?

i went the expensive way ( insurance hail damage money ) Line-X the roof and the hood. looks great and don't have to worry about rust or paint pealing from the rough sun in south Texas!

Line X is lightly textured black right? do you have any pics of that. i'm faced with the same issue now. roof.

d1 and d2 are aluminum, RRC is steel

I'd rather pay $8 and do it once than pay the same $8 and do it eight times for the same result.

I have a Vigg Designs hood blackout. It came with a bunch of other stuff I bought off a guy. Otherwise I'd go with a can of Dupli-Color spray on bedliner, Matte Black FTW.

fish, you ever try the black stove pipe paint rustoleum. im addicted to it. it's extreme flat and covering.

i have done my front and rear bumpers, windshield wiper arms, and my grille on RRC in 99 cent rattle can. 3 cans got me thru everything. a few years ago i did my D1 wiper arms that are on my D2. one can. 99 cent. still perfect.

prep is everything.
