Default LED Light Bar - Installation Help Needed

Hi all,

I have a 2010 LR4 that I'm hoping to mount a 50" LED light bar to. I'm ok with the mounting but not sure how to wire the switch through the firewall. Any advice would be great.

Jon

Did your lift bar come with a wiring harness including the switch and relay.
Are you wanting to wire to a direct power scours or a switch system light the headlights?

Assuming you have the relay all figured out... I drilled a small hole next to the point where the wiring harness enters the firewall above the passenger footwell. Most auto shops have a selection of rubber grommets you can use.

If you haven't figured out the relay go to a shop. I'd suggest a high capacity relay, a small fusebox, a switch (or use one you have already) and some thick wire. Also... and Mike is touching on this.... watch your amps and consider wiring it like the fogs so if you have brights on the light bar goes off.

I have a high capacity wiring harness and switch with fuse. For the firewall should I try to access from under the car or under the hood? I have no idea where to find it.

To get where I am taking about open the hood and look to the left right in front of the dash and down a little. You will see a giant bundle of wires going through the firewall and a rubber grommmet. I poked a hole just to the right of that (still facing from the front of the truck). That side is closest to the battery so that's where I run wires.

It just occurred to me that if you have secondary air injection you might have to move a component aside to see the spot.
