Hello everyone I wanted to post today to show you guys my upgraded head unit. This was done in a 2006 Lr3 with the V8. To start I know this is not for everyone out there but for those who are interested here it is. There was nothing wrong with the old head unit except it was old and did not have Bluetooth. I decided I wanted a nice head unit with apple carplay. I read some forms and there was not much out there. But I did it anyway and it turned out great I could not be happier. The new unit not only gives be apple carplay but also improved the sound quality a lot. And that got me thinking "what if I had more bass." I know there is already a sub in this car but mine was blown and instead of rewiring and trying to find a replacement I opted to just put in a whole new one. I did end up breaking the nav screen, now it only says "Land Rover." but to me, it was a worthwhile trade. I have wait to post this for over a year now because I wanted to make sure everything was going to stay working before I recommended it to someone else. The head unit I put in is a Pioneer AVH - W4500NEX. The subwoofer is a 12'' 600-watt alpine sub. All in all, it took close to 6hrs and a good bit of contemplation of my life choices but in the end it was worth it. Let me know what you think good or bad. And for those out there considering this, I would say do it. This is the head unit and the broken nav screen. And The sub. This is the Amp for the Sub.
Anyone else have CarPlay issues where you’re intermittently kicked off and reconnected, eventually saying USB NoxVidmateVLC cord doesn’t work? ‘20 RR here.
