Default Are the OEM stereo head units interchangeable?

'04 D2.

I currently have the type of OEM head unit that has the integrated (lamest) navigation system. Does anyone know if the other type of head unit (I think its an Alpine / pic below) is interchangeable? Plug and play?

Thx

I know they both have an external amp, so they might work. I like the NAV head unit more, it seemed to sound better but that could be the amp and speakers that come with it.

I could send you one to try and if it works/you like it sell it to you for cheap.
