Default Painting wheels

I am wanting some thoughts on painted wheels for my RR. The stock wheels look good but I wanted to do something a little different and thought about painting part of the wheels. I am wanting to just paint the interior section of the wheel a metallic gray color to make it a little different. By "interior section" I just mean the middle of each of the sections from the center cap to the edge of the wheel. I am trying to get a two tone effect. I get that some people will either like the look or hate the look but what I am worried about is any problem with having the wheels painted (professionally of course). The painter, etc. say it is fairly easy and it should hold up just fine. The only issue would be if I somehow dinged the wheel I might have to touch the paint up. That doesn't seem to be that big of a deal. Thoughts everyone?

Currently, my RR has the wheels in this pic:

I have seen a few people paint their wheels, taking care to sand, prime and paint them with the best paint they could find and things like the tire weights will still scratch them.
Might want to consider having the wheels powder coated to the color you want. This is more expensive but for a street vehicle like yours it would look great.

Thanks for the advice Mike. I have the GT package on mine so it looks very street for sure 9even more so than the one in the pic I posted). I do intend on using some of the off road capabilities of it but nothing like what a lot of you guys are doing. My main concern was the durability of the painted more than anything. Powder coating may but a better option. Do you think powder coat would hold up pretty well?

I have seen many people over the year that have powder coated their wheels and they hold up really well. I like the fact that you can have the color of your choice made up and even select the thickness of the coating.
Talk to any local shop that does powder coating and see what they say.

Powder coating is almost indestructable as it bonds to metal much better than paint. The paint will get scratched and knicked from normal usage, much more so off-roading.

Thanks for the input. I was thinking about it last night and started wondering if my stock wheels are painted or not. I don't mean aftermarket, I mean are the wheels painted from the factory?
