Default Upgrading tires and lift

I’m working on buying new rims and tires for my 1996 Disco 1. I have a set of four I found for sale I really like but they’re 18 inch rims. My question is.. will they fit? I plan on putting a 2” lift in but it isn’t there yet. any advice is helpful. Thanks!

Those tires sold but I’m looking to strategically buy something good for the long term in October. I have 16 inch rims and 245/75/R16 tires currently. I want to put a 2” Terra Firma lift and then upgrade tires and possibly rims. I just don’t know how big I can go with the stock wheel well. Ideally I want some tires that are good all around, that will work well off road but not destroy my gas mileage. Any advice helps, thanks

My '00 came with 18" rims and I have 32" tires with a 2" lift seems to work most of the time, only rubs with extreme flex.

I went a little bigger than stock.

Bigger than stock size.

Cooper STT 235/85 r16 a 32" tyre just under 9.5" wide on LR deep dish alloys, great tyres, ran them for 6yrs on standard suspension no probs only slight rub under extreme articulation. Been running a 2" lift for a couple years now and nothing changed but will be swapping out for custom rims soon with new 33" tyres so we'll see how that works out.
