I'm in the process of fitting an ex BMW X5 GT2260V garret vnt to my 300tdi using a 200tdi manifold and a fabricated adapter, the people i know with them love them so i wouldn't hesitate.

There are a number of vnt's off production vehicles that can be used but the problem with the 300tdi is the manifold has half of the turbo housing cast into it.
There are 3 choices
Replace the center section of the original manifold with a flanged section
Find a 200tdi manifold
Have a custom manifold made

So make a new one. I'm sure there is some one out there that could weld up a nice manifold for semi affordable price. It does not need to be fancy, just needs T3/T4 base on it. good luck, BTW I run a VNT on my Ford F450 and its a decent turbo.

I was lucky to get a 200tdi manifold from the UK and was brought back as hand luggage so now just need to adapt it to the GT2260V i have.
