Default 2017 td6 air filter and maintenance q

First q anyone in here rockin a dry AFE or Kn filter on their diesel?

second q cpo warranty. What maintenance do I HAVE to get to maintain the warranty? Normal service? Oil etc... or milestone services like trans fluid.

third q where can I find the service intervals aside from oil and filters?

Just got a new to me 17 td6 I’m a car guy have done drop in filters on every car Ive had. Along with modifications etc... will be looking to tune in a few years once my cpo runs out.

1. IMO, K&N type filters are for racing, above 375 horse's. No benefit, other that killing MAF sensors.
2. My service schedule is every 10K, (oil, oil filter, fuel filter, air filter)
3. Plan on Tranny fluid, front and rear diff fluid, and transfer case at 60K,

look at my threads.

Welcome aboard!

I like the AFE dry air filters; I think they are better than OE paper filters. I would never recommend an oiled media filter. Not sure of an AFE p/n that fits our size, though.

Default K&N

I've been running a K&N filter for the past 30k miles on my Td6. They are sold on Amazon in a two pack from K&N directly for around $100 for the pair. What's nice is that you can put one in, leave the other out and when cleaning time comes the spare can fully dry so you don't accidentally kill a MAF sensor. Disco runs great, maintenance is easy and I put a clean filter in with each oil change at 8K mile intervals. I've also run a Chip Express tune for the past 30K miles and previously posted the performance gains. Best of luck with your new ride!

Thanks for the replies!

Copy the filters I know they are oil etc.. but for turbo applications I figure it would be ideal. Afe. Makes a dry one id probably lean that way.

I’m contacting RaceChip now to see if the rrs diesel is the same programmer and can be used on the disco. are they the same engine fully? The diesel rrs and disco engines for usdm? Or are their differences.

how is the tune workin for ya? Mpg bump? Is that a piggy back? Or a complete flash?

Default I looked at Race Chip 1st

I looked at Race Chip1st and was considering exactly what you are referencing. But they get crappy reviews for customer service and the version that connect to the phone is very unreliable. That was 2 years ago. Better now? I got a big performance bump and a slight MPG bump. Getting 25 MPG average over 37k miles. I actually did some timed 0-60 testing and posted the results previously.

Looks like AFE 31-10284 will work for the D5. Got it on Amazon for a couple bucks less.
