Now we are at 8 months of ownership and the car has been in the shop for 40 plus days. The majority of issues (besides the time it broke down) all go back to the infotainment screen either shutting down, going black, going green, etc. Do I ask for money compensation or for a replacement vehicle? I love the car and am concerned that if they take the car back, my monthly payments will change (it’s a lease). Has anyone gone through with a buy back before?

You may be entitled to a new vehicle or the option to end the lease under the lemon law. I guess each state is different so check yours to see what options you have. It will be to your advantage since you are still under a year of possession.

It wouldn’t really be a buy back since you don’t own the vehicle. You are basically just renting it under a lease. First, Read your lease agreement and see what it says. Line for line. Keep all your receipts of what has happened.

That stinks... sorry to hear. Ours has been back in as well (it’s there currently as I type this)... this time, her heated seats aren’t working. Well, they work, but just BARELY. We were lucky enough to ask for (& receive) the same size car for a loaner since we were taking a road trip for Thanksgiving... and its seat heaters are NICE & TOASTY.. so there’s definitely something wrong with hers. We also still have a small rattle in the front dash middle speaker cover. I tried adding some velvet lining in a couple of key spots, but it’s not doing the trick.

We have really mixed feelings thus far. As so many have stated, we love the truck. It’s the perfect size for us for a 3 row vehicle; and the luxury is great. But the days in service are getting a little ridiculous... And at this pace, I probably won’t get an extended warranty to keep it long-term. I think we are just going to ride out the regular warranty, and get rid of the truck at that time, then try to move on to something different.

Also - you are certainly entitled to both of the options you mentioned. I would DEFINITELY at least look for compensation from LR Corporate for the amount of time the truck has been out of your possession (I know of multiple people who have done so with Porsche NA for the same type of scenario). If you are unhappy to the point of not wanting the vehicle anymore, then I would recommend talking to your dealership about an early lease termination (without penalty). I know of people on other forums who have done this as well.

It can never hurt to ask (for anything). Keep us posted! And Good Luck.

I don’t know if you have the answers to these questions but If I were to accept a new car, some of my concerns: 1. Would it be the minimum options and colors I currently have? 2. Since my car is a 2019, would I be entitled to a 2020 or have to take something left over from 2019? 3. Do they repay me the payments I’ve made since the day the issues started (basically since we took possession? 4. Is the lease price I’m currently paying locked in? 5. Since it’s a 36 month lease, does the clock restart or would the length of the lease be from the time I took possession of the original Disco? I’ve asked the dealership and they said it depends on what corporate decides and no one at corporate can give me a straight answer.
thank you!

1. I wouldn’t worry about this/these things... most likely, if they went that went route it would be considered an entirely new transaction / deal starting from square one. What they would do is make an agreement with you to “end” your current deal/situation... then talk about a “new” deal on a different car.
2. Again - see answer to #1... entirely new transaction so there shouldn’t be “limitations” on anything.
3. No - more like, they would just cover the “days” you did not have your car in possession. So if it was a total of 30 days, then they would cover a month’s payment.
4. See #1 again
5. See #1 again

Still in the shop for the heated seats... Thus far, they cannot pinpoint the issue. We are almost out of options; the next/last option is for them to tear down all of the seats and rip out the seat heaters to install new ones. Not really happy, but at least they are trying.
