The truck is steady , sure footed on highway, and has more power than all the V8’s mentioned. Put it in S mode which changes the gear ratio a bit and I can pull it at 75 mph no problem. My trailer has disc brakes on both axels and I have a lot of experience towing. It’s not a 3/4 ton diesel pickup and I dont expect it to be. It’s more than capable of towing my boat 2 or 3 times a year 200 miles to the keys and back. Boat ramps are no problem. Forget about fuel economy in the Gas D5. Diesel is probably a little better. Don’t over think it. It’s the best towing rig in its class.
Any issues pulling your sea craft out of the water up the ramp?

Found this guy in Louisiana and pulled it 550 miles back to Texas with a full tank of gas. Right around 7500lbs. Towed the hell out of it and at 60mpg averaged 14mpg. At 70 it dropped to 11ish. That’s pretty solid. Put it in, did a cruise of about 35miles. Pulled it right up the ramp with zero issues. Today the tide had dropped while I was out so had the back wheels on slippery moss and the fronts on wet concrete and it wouldn’t spin a wheel while yanking it out.
