Default First annual service.

Hey all.

just had a quick question to make sure I’m not insane.

We dropped off the girlfriends 2018 discovery for its first service.

Also having them upgrade the software and add CarPlay. They told me $299.00.

fine by me.

We were told it would be ready the following day (dripped it off Tuesday for a Wednesday pickup)

it’s now Friday and our multiple calls have gone unanswered (voicemails left for our service advisor and service manager )

this is the same dealership I bought 2 Range Rover Sports from as well as this discovery.

im a bit frustrated now as I’ve had to rent a vehicle for her to use for work and see no return date in the future as were going into that weekend.

so my main question (sorry for the rant) is how long did your 1st service take ? Should I ask for the CarPlay install for free due to the wait ?

First service was completed in 4 hrs at my dealership. The brakes were changed as the light wasn’t on yet. Update to apple car play they should give that to you for free. I didn’t pay for mine and a few others on here said the same. Good luck!

That sounds crazy!
I had the smartphone pack installed late last year and paid $300, seems others did get it free more recently.

My first service was this summer, dropped it off the morning. Had a number of warranty items done, moonroof rattle, software updates and tire rotation. They gave me a free loner, Disco Sport. D5 was ready and I picked up the next day in the afternoon.

Something is off and they should definitely compensate for leaving you without a car so long.

I didn't know there was any dealer that didn't offer free service loaner vehicles.
I'd drop by the dealership unannounced and ask to see it - maybe it fell off the lift or got damaged and they are trying to fix it without telling you.

You need to escalate this. No excuse for leaving you without a loaner.

The dealership near me has a lot of bad review o line mostly due to not having enough loaner vehicles.
they just finished building a massive new service building (although how that helps with the loaners is not clear) so at least they’re investing in the problem.
I hope I don’t have issues when I go for my first service.

I agree with the others, if it’s been so long and they’re not ever returning calls I’d go there and check if the vehicle is ok. Check it *very* carefully when you do get it back. I mean each panel slowly checking the paint. It’s probably nothing but as they don’t even return calls...

Agree with everyone before me....I get free loaner cars every time I bring it. Also they put in the Apple play for free...(I don't like it or use it).

I posted info on Front and Rear Brakes which shows how to replace pad and how to tell if you need pads or rotors.
