Assistance Required Turn Signal Issue on Land Rover Discovery 5 (L462)
Dear all,I am experiencing an issue with my Land Rover Discovery 5 (L462), which was imported from the US to EU. I have replaced the original tail lights with EU-spec units, installed by a local Land Rover specialist. However, there is still a problem with the turn signals. The yellow indicators work correctly, but the red lights (presumably the brake lights) also flash simultaneously when the turn signal is activated.
Could this be a programming issue? Is there any chance you could assist with this matter? If necessary, we can send you the ECU via courier.
I would greatly appreciate your support and advice on resolving this issue.
In the US, the brake and the directional indicator are one and the same. I didn't know the EU lamps had an orange directional indicator. I'm sure there's a configuration change the dealer missed to separate the light functionality.

North America is the only region on the planet that allows for brake lights and turn signals to be the same unit. Everywhere else amber turn signals are the law.
@Aap the RoverHead , Wid you ever figure this out? What part numbers did you use for the EU tail-lights? Do you have a picture of them in operation? I'm not sure if you have a GAP tool available to you, but there are a few promising settings that might get them working properly.
I just did the butt-lift conversion I installed the 2025 tail lights on my 2017. Car is US version. Check the plug in the back and see how many wires you have US has only 4. 1 for break light/turn signal, 1 running light, 1 di feedback and 1 ground. Its missing the dedicated DI wire.
If someone could chime in I believe unused wires are just being grounded and I think I found it. See picture attached you would just take that DI wire and add it to spot 2 in your harness.
There are also several ccf settings for EU market, sweeping di etc accessible via GAP IID tool.
That grounded wire looks to be Green/Brown vs Green/Orange for the DI line. The GN/OG wire would trace back to the body control module rather than going to ground.
I wonder if the unused lin/dcm wires are just grounded from the bcm. In the tail light diagram all three are grounded in the taillight. I am just guessing here.
I did bridge the brake and turn signal ( pins 1 and 2) and both the red and amber turn signal worked but at the same time. So another option would be to install one of those turn and break signal splitters.
The right way to do it is to trace to where the GN/OG wire lands on the BCM and install a new "overlay" wire in the BCM harness connector back to the taillight DI pin. After that's done you'd need to change the appropriate settings in the GAP tool to separate the DI wire from the Brake wire. It may also need to be done for the tailgate lamp since the DI light wraps across both lamps.

True. But in the US, you can have the yellow turn signals and red stop lamps. I don't know why LR and others bother with a US version.
These days they just program them differently. The new led turn signals on the LRs I have seen amber and red sweeping ones. I think its just a ccf setting.
