Auto On/Off Cancel Solution
2020 Discovery Landmark. I've read a number of posts on turning off the auto on/off feature where it was stated the only way was with a Gap tool.
Well, my mechanic did it with Launch. Using Launch, he identified the module and disconnected it.
Dash shows the off symbol that shows when it's manually turned off. If I push the on/off button a message pops up saying the feature isn't available.
No codes, no other unintended events noticed.
It's only been a couple days, so I'll update this post if problem shows up.

Either way, not having to disable start/stop every time you get in the car is pretty nice.
Not sure how the Launch was involved. There's a power quality module in the right rear compartment all the way in the bottom just forward of the jacking kit. I'm sure the mechanic disconnected the plug from that module. As far as I can recall, the module is a supercap that ensures all the electronics have power when the starter engages and draws massive amps from the battery. If the car cant verify it's there then it won't allow start/stop to function. I ran mine like that for a while before changing the setting with my GAP tool when I got it.

I don't have the td, but I don't think it's great for any engine. Yes, the starter may be strong enough. But what about tthe circulation of coolant and oil stopping? Especially in traffic with constant on/off due to traffic lights, traffic jams? Can't be doing the engine or the battery any good.
