Based on publicly available PDS, Castrol EP IS a (slightly) more advanced oil than LiquiMoly TT.

While people assume more expensive must mean better, price, quality/features and perceived quality do not necessarily correlate at all.

 

Yep. People are inclined to spend s lot more on "superior quality" priced things based on the belief they must be better. Or for status. Let's face it, if you bought a LR, you didn't do it because it's the best SUV. And by insisting you must use the "best" oil out there just to reach the 100k mark, you are pretty much admitting it. So no one should be talking about "cheaping out" being unwise. Maybe spending 3 times the price of a "cheap" car for something you have to spend 3 times the cost in maintenance isn't so smart. And obviously, I am among those who made that choice. But I'd no more suggest Castrol is a bad oil than I'd suggest Toyotas and Mazdas are bad cars because they aren't premium priced.
