changed LR140035 expansion chamber for the air suspension compressor
It wouldn't let me raise or lower suspension , also no cruise control or forward alert.
first opened up compressor tested for air leaks, no air leak.
replaced the expansion chamber, fixed it. #LR140035
actual code pulled the unit compressor in housing drilled all rivets out compressor with both housings removed part rivet tool part came with rivets to reassemble the filter is also riveted in inner housing assebled everything reassemble and bolted in cover installed tray and side pieces bolted in foam back in place.
Hope this helps someone!
took about 5 hours, including air leak testing with soapy water.
Interesting, so that's where the subwoofer is located. According to Meridian, it is located behind the cargo lining on the driver's side. Now it makes sense that I couldn't find it when I had my D5.

I have the third row seats. That could affect the location.
Our expansion chamber failed a while back and was replaced under CPO. Same symptoms. It seems like it would be a lot simpler repair if the internal hose was just a little bit longer or if the compressor housing was screwed together instead. I guess we're lucky they sell a repair part rather than the whole compressor as a non-serviceable unit.
Also, I'm really jealous of your foam block for the hitch storage. I had the factory hitch installed after the fact and it didn't come with the insert.

I had an HSE Luxury which came with the third row as standard. There's a possibility that it is behind the cargo liner in five-seat vehicles, but I doubt it.
Wow! Way to go. Really buried down in there. I've never riveted a thing in my life 😂
Its easy, drill old rivet out with a 4mm drill or a 5/32 drill........ the old rivet becomes two pieces, and falls away...... when reassembling, open rivet gun handle wide open, insert rivet into gun...... position into the hole, hold a little pressure inward, close/pump handle, ( usually two pumps) then the stem on the rivet will pop off! ( pop rivet)
Every YouTube out there is for different models, and I was under the belief that the compressor was upside down along the side of the body behind the rear wheel.
I have a 2017 discovery L462 with a third row seating as well so I’m going to guess that my compressor is where yours is. And maybe this expansion piece will allow me to return the new compressor I already bought. Unfortunately no one here wants to work on it so I might have to do it myself!
I’m guessing this is why the very next year JLR added a big metal tube as an air tank to this vehicle. The compressor probably was used much more than they anticipated. I believe an air tank requires less compressor usage. The compressor only runs one air tank needs to be refilled.
I downloaded the topic document on removing and replacing the suspension air compressor housing. It was adamant to replace the air connectors however it looks like you never disconnected them. I wish you would’ve specified that if it is a case. Is it?
