CPO Question
Hi All- Hopefully some are still monitoring this thread. I just purchased a 2018 SC Dynamic with low miles. I had a 2015 HSE and have been in RR withdrawal since turning it in a few years ago! Anyway, I literally just called the dealer about this very issue. I was told the CPO Warranty for the car was 5 years/100,000 from in service date. I elected to extend it to 7/100,000 for around $3,200. Suddenly this morning it dawned on me that everywhere it said 7/100,000 on CPOs. So I was like “did I just getter scammed”. I called the dealer and they insisted 5/100,000 and I paid to extend it to 7/100,000 under the same CPO terms. Has anyone gotten any further clarification on this? I plan on stopping in the dealer on Thursday to discuss it more and just realized I never got any formal paperwork regarding the extension.
There are different length CPO warranties. You were not ripped off. Your dealer may have offered 5/100K with the vehicle you purchased and you agreed to pay to make it 7/100K.
You should make sure you get a printout from LR USA (the dealer should provide this) that shows the warranty dates. Not just a printout or document from your dealer, but one from LR USA. Otherwise your dealer could be just hoping you don't need the warranty and not have registered it with LR USA. If that's the case, then other dealers won't see your CPO warranty and won't honor it until you get it into the LR system computer.

It was on my sales contract also. And another separate CPO form. But another dealer looked in the LR system and it was not recorded there and thus not valid or visible to other dealers.
You gotta make sure they enter into the system so all dealers see your warranty.

I recently bought a CPO 2018 D5 HSE and this forum has been a huge help in figuring out what I needed to about this car. It's my first LR and it seems like a lot of things are just "different". Like trying to find non-OEM crossbars that fit
. The CPO warranty thing is something that I did dig into myself so I'll give back a little info.
All of what folks have posted about is true but the LR language and dealer processes make it confusing. CPO can be up to 7/100k but that's the possible max - not all CPOs will have that. My own vehicle came with ~4yrs of remaining warranty. It started with the original 4yr warranty on the in-service date. Then it was a lease-return and the dealer put an additional 2yr CPO warranty on it. It was then purchased by a 2nd owner and later traded in on their new Defender. So, I bought it 2 yrs old, have 2yrs remaining on the factory warranty, and then 2yrs extension from the CPO warranty. Dealers can choose how many years they want to add on a CPO (up to 7 based on rules), or add none. Dealers also pay JLR a fee to put extra JLR warranty on the car (all manufacturers do this) and then they turn around and charge the customer what they want for that - it's a product dealers sell. Dealers make this more confusing by *also* selling 3rd party warranties, various maintenance packages that might be honored by other LR dealers, or might not, etc.
In the end, I called JLR customer service, gave them the VIN, and asked them to walk through the official records with me. The dealer was zero help in this (unfortunately, my dealer turned out to be a great example of the old style of car dealer). Related - my car has a pre-paid maintenance package on it with a year remaining that the dealer said would be honored at any JLR dealer. I live closer to a different dealer so I asked about that when I was in for a warranty issue - they had never heard of this. So I called JLR customer service and asked. It turns out the original dealer was right. It's a JLR maintenance package good at any dealer. In the end, advice to new buyers is to ask a lot of questions and call JLR Customer Service if necessary. I've found them to be helpful with a few things.
Oh, and if you were thinking that adding a tow hitch and roof rails later is like any other car where it's easy - forget that.
Buy one that already has them. But I'm really liking my 1st Disco!

I purchased a 2017 land rover discovery and was told its was certified and that I would receive the 7 year 100,000 mile warranty as advertised. It was explained to me that it was up to 7 years because it started from the original vehicle sale date. I was asked to bring the vehicle back in that week so they could complete the cpo inspection and was assured that it qualified got the warranty advertised. After they completed the final inspection I was told it only gets 1 year more than the new vehicle 4 year warranty. So after explaining my case to the salesman and even showing him on the land rover usa website that there sad nothing indicating that I shouldn't get the full 7 year warranty. I asked what my option was. He told me I could buy an outside warranty but that I couldn't buy an extension from land rover because I had already completed the purchase. I saved screen shots of the web page and I wrote to land rover usa and I received no response. I then emailed the general manager at the dealership and he told me to honor what was told yo me they would have to buy my vehicle back and sell me another like vehicle. Then they would pay for an extended warranty. I them went on the website and found that all the cpo warranty information has changed. It has been over month since I purchased my vehicle and there have been no offers to me for any vehicles. I have been told to keep driving my vehicle and they will keep looking for a comparable vehicle. So short answer is they did advertise the 7 year warranty but they didn't honor it yet
Purchased a CPO 2017 Discovery First Edition May 2021. Was also told that it comes with a 7 year/100K warranty.
Here's what was on my CPO Checklist Document
Original in service date = 3/2018
New Vehicle Warranty Expiration Date or 50K miles = 3/2022
Approved CPO Warranty Expiration Date or 100K miles = 3/2024
Looks like I received the 6 year/100K miles warranty and not the 7 year....bugger!

First I'd go back and get them to put that 7 year promise in writing.
Second, after I got it in writing from someone at the dealership I would then ask them to enter into LR system and show you a printout from the manufacturer showing the 7 year expiration date.
But I wouldn't even mention the second part until I got them to do the first part.
If you can't get them to do the first part it's just another verbal promise from that dealer that was a lie.
Either way, enjoy your new D5.

CPO 2019 D5 HSE lux diesel here.
Bought mine completely remote as it was the only one I could find with the packages/compromises I was accept (cliff notes: I was being picky). Up front and all of my info said 5 yr/100k from in service date. I've toyed with the idea of extending it out to 7 years but not quite sure yet (or even if its still an option). I've already used the warranty a bit. They did not offer to extend the warranty (actually didn't upsell me on anything). Couple of little broken interior things on the car when I got it. Not the end of the world but I paid for fancy pieces, I'm gonna use the fancy pieces.
Yeah rover dealers seem to be hit or miss. Of course my new local dealer is a solid meh. But Land Rover North Point (outside Pittsburgh, PA) where I got the car was pretty darn good.
