Disco 5 - Routine 60k miles service.
I have a Disco 5, year 2020. It is due for the 60k mile routine service. I'm trying to see if I perform the service myself as opposed to taking it to the dealership.
Can anyone please tell me:
1- besides the Oil change, which I've already done. What else does it include?
2- The average cost at the dealership of this routine service? (I live in Florida)
3- Any recommendation you might think of.
Thanks!

I follow LR's service guide, https://osh.landrover.com/
You can pull down a copy, for various service intervals. Look for the "service information" tab
I replaced all the drivetrain oils at 50k. I'd highly recommend you do that.
Front Diff, Center Diff/Transfer Case, Transmission and rear diff.
I imagine dealers will charge quite a bit, so I chose the DIY path. Plenty of docs and guides on this forum (and FCP Euro).

I'd also add a brake fluid refresh if it's been more than 3 years. Inexpensive and easy to do.
The transmission fluid change includes a new transmission pan, bolts, and filter, which come in a kit. Same pan as many BMW parts.
You can also buy the kit including fluid but I believe it comes with 1 liter more than you will need. You will also need to monitor fluid temperature after the refill and then top it up when it is in the correct temperature range. You can monitor the temperature using an OBD2 reader. Mine was a Vgate and was $20 and I used an app called Car Scanner on my phone. Recommend you only use genuine ZF fluid to match your ZF transmission.

Only thing I had my indy shop do is my timing belt @113K ( suppose to do @112K )

Funny I just got quoted on the 64k mile service today as I’m at 59k. They said it’s $2,500 (and change) and includes oil change, brake fluid, differential service as well as filter changes. I think they said it’s a 4-hour service. Kind of steep for me - I actually need new brakes soon as well so I’m considering trying to do the brakes myself.
Not sure I agree with it being fairly standard, but it is pretty straight forward if you find the right guide. I found several videos and guides, but my front calipers did not match those shown. They were showing calipers that had pull out pins and the pads could be pulled out simple enough. My front calipers have to be entirely removed with a couple bolts having something like 18-19mm head. Then a real pain to get the pads out and back in from the belly side. I also had some struggles getting the electronic parking brake to retract properly with the instructions I saw. They ended up timing out on me and trying to apply the brake in the middle of me replacing one of the sides - glad my fingers weren't anywhere in there! Mine is 2018, so maybe an odd man out for being an early model. I have seen a handful of parts marked "MY17" even though it's 18.
I agree with the electronic parking brake issue. I think it's easier to actually remove it from the back of the caliper instead of trying to use the deactivation instructions.
But a 60 K service doesn't necessarily require new brake pads. You might need them sooner or later than 60K. It would be prudent to visually inspect the remaining pad thickness, both inboard and outboard. But you shouldn't be servicing brakes without some prior experience or a friend with experience looking over your shoulder. It's easy enough but it is the brake system. The fluid change service is really a 3 year service interval in my maintenance schedule. Unrelated to mileage.
