Default Driving Over Tall Grass. Bad Idea?

As the title indicates, is it a bad idea to drive over tall grass? During some offroading, I can hear it brushing along the bottom of the LR. I am not worried about it scratching the underside, just concerned that with part of the (hot) exhaust exposed, could it cause a fire? Thoughts??

Huh? No. Is the grass green? No.

If the ground was bone dry, it was the middle of the Summer and you pulled off the interstate and parked in the middle of a hay field, maybe. Doubt it.

Default tall grass

It depends on the conditions of the area and the grass. Tall green grass in winter, no problem but you’ll be surprised how slick wet grass can be. In the middle of a hot, dry summer, not a good idea. I’m a firefighter and have heard of some fires being started in tall, dry grasses when people idle for extended periods of time or drive through tall dry grass for long distances, but only when the conditions are right (low humidity, dry season, low fuel moisture). Probably not the best thing to do for miles and miles in the summer if you live in a dry season prone to wildfires. Otherwise you should be okay. Just be conscious of the conditions.
