Default Electronic Parking Brake Deactivation/Activation

The attached file shows how to Deactivate the Electronic Parking Brake Mode for towing or for replacing Rear Brake Pads and how to Reactivate it.

This should be a sticky.

Is this also the way to keep it from automatically applying the parking brake when the transmission is put in park? I do not like this feature...

You can try it. Let us know if it works for you and if you can still then apply and release it with the console switch while keeping the auto deployment inactive.

These finds are great!
Will definitely download and keep a copy in the glovebox as well.
Should have been in the manual, as it can be needed offroad out in the middle of nowhere if something breaks and a buddy need to tow you, etc, etc.

You are the best! I've been looking for this for so long! I have to tackle the rear brakes on our D5, and was concerned I would have to remove the motor and manually wind each EPB unit. While this seems easy enough, my concern was whether it would be out of calibration with the new pads. Service mode is what I needed, but no one seemed to have any info on the procedure, and from what I can tell none of the OBDII diagnostic tools currently on the market are compatible with 2017+ Land Rovers.

I did try it and the dash said I was in maintenance mode or something to that effect.
