Incontrol issue Disco 5
Hi I have just bought a second hand Discovery 5 and am trying to set up the incontrol app.
I have a incontrol account which I set up and the vehicle in question is being shown within the cloud account as a secondary user and I have no ability to see any of the features available.
I have no subscriptions but would like to purchase and again I can see nowhere I can purchase a subscription on my computer on phone., is this done in the vehicle itself.
I have installed a sim and have mobile data configured but just cannot get into the app and all its features. Is this because the car is registered to another owner....
Very frustrating as I am quite good with tech but this has me going around and around .....

So since you just bought it its probably still linked to the old owner so what I did when I bought mine second hand was I called the LR dealership I bought it from and they cleared the old account linked to it and its working for me mine came with a subscription until 2023
This should surprise me that the dealers don't disclose or include disconnecting online accounts automatically as part of transfer / decommissioning. The primary account holder can unlock the vehicle, download journeys, or worse, remote start the car in a confined space. I just checked and sure enough, our old traded in Disco Sport is still available on the app. Wow.
No doubt, however in many jurisdictions it's a privacy regulation breach enabled by JLR. Sadly the first lawsuit will fix that unintegrated process.
I had problems too, with a brand new car! The problem was I had set up an account with Land Rover in order to save my build sheet. When the car arrived, 4 months later, we (the dealer and I) tried to set up the cars in-control. BUT, it just wouldn’t accept my credentials, even though I could log on on the computer. What I had to do was delete my account on line and set up a new account using a different email (I used my Gmail account for this). The car recognized me and set up with no problem afterwards.
