I know tire choices seem limited, but are there ANY good AT choices for me or am I limited to pretty much the OEM street tire?

Ugh.

I'm in the same boat... haven't seen anything yet.

I think my plan is going to be to eventually get a second set of 19 or 20" rims. I don't really want to spend the money, but I think I'll probably be happier in the end. I'll still need the road biased tires as I drive some long distances to my kid's college several times a year.

Second set is not a bad idea but I am not dying to take the plunge. The 21s look great and the Pirelli Scorpions perform well off road. I’ve had them in soft sand and slippery clay here in FL and have had no problem. I worry a bit about the relatively thin sidewall but we don’t have much in the way of sharp rocks, etc here. I still have my fingers crossed that someone will start making a 21” AT. Pirelli has a nice AT already- it’s a shame they don’t offer it in this size. I’ve emailed them, but the more interest they receive, the more likely we are to see some movement. I’ve emailed some of the other manufacturers as well.

A tiny bit of a hassle but I loved having 18s with Terra Grapplers and 20s with Pirellis for my Pepper when I had it. 18s in the winter and for mountain trips, 20s with those sticky Pirellis the rest of the time. Now that we live clear out in the sticks though plus winter and mountains, just having a decent fairly tame ATR year round, Yokohama Geolander G015s, should work nicely. Find out Thursday.

You have to figure the market will eventually catch up with some decent 21s but not yet . . . and, really, you need more sidewall anyway. 55 is as low as I would go off road.
