anyone with a TD6 here that had the issue fixed has the PCM update somewhere?

BYW they gave me a DIscovery sport as a loaner, not my favorite to be honest.

Thanks in advance
Is this your first diesel vehicle? The turbo lag with a diesel is more pronounced than the gas version. That may be what you are experiencing. There is a slight turbo lag on my 2020 Disco V as well but it's not any worse than prior BMW X5 diesels. I will be adding a Chip Express piggyback tune which I have heard decreases the lag a bit. Plus more power and better fuel economy. The Pedal Box looks like a viable option as well.

It is a module that plugs in to accelerator pedal module. The guys with TD6 in the Facebook group all rave about t it in terms of helping with lag, it is adjustable.

its not my first diesel, during normal driving it feels fine, its when you need the car to react quick that it has a delay.

Ill have to try the pedalbox

Gotcha. I agree that the first 25% throttle is too light. Maybe the pedal box is the way to go. I'm going to check that out too.

October 2020, and dealer said the lag is due to my 22 inch wheels. Really? first time increasing by 1 inch in wheel diameter affects the way my cars accelerate. The total diameter of the wheel/tire currently on my Disco is the same as the OEM 21". So now.... is there still no solution to a problem that is obviously a safety issue from manufacturer??? I know of someone who got hit while making a left turn because of this lag. Has no one sued Land Rover due to this unsafe behaviour of their vehicles? Just bough this one, and if it wasn't cuz it had most of the warranty left, I wouldn't have considered buying it. Figured the warranty would get this issue fixed, but they quickly went for the stupidest excuse to get off dealing with it. I will not be visiting THAT specific LR dealer. there's more in my city, so forget lazy shops like that one.

The dealer fixed our issue once LD released a transmission module update, May 2019, I think. Had something to do with adjusting when the downshifts occur at low speed and dropping D into 1st from a standstill...

I don’t buy that the 23 inch wheels are the cause of the lag, however the vehicle will accelerate slower with than as the larger the wheel part of your wheel/tyre combo the heavier the wheel tyre combo tends to be (super light but weak Motorsport rims aside) and that is a bad effect on acceleration.
But I wouldn’t expect that to feel like lag.

I had lag on my gas D5 until they did a TSB update that fixed it. As for diesels, all turbo cars have low rpm lag, no exceptions, but again, if you’re used to that or it is not low rpm related then that won’t be it either.

I suspect you need the TSB doing, or maybe you have a boost leak or weak wastegate or something? (Doubtful though).

Well it has been almost a year since I had the update applied and I can say it worked great.
I don't even think about it anymore.

Some here. Done the patch a long while back. Perfect now
It's definitely not the wheels if it's an acceleration lag!

Default 2020 Disco Sport same lag issue

Hopefully this thread is still somewhat alive. I just bought a BRAND NEW 2020 Discovery Sport and after 2 days I started researching any lag issues because it was already awful.

I can’t believe this issue still exists. My Sport is under 100 miles and the lag is incredibly noticeable when leaving from a full stop and some turns.
