sorry for a late reply.. i was guilty of reading a lot and not posting.... i bought an 18 disco 5 six months ago - gas HSE and the acceleration out of a slow down was just awful.... i went to my dealer 5 times and they just fobbed me off and told me i was an idiot.... this is Sonic Landrover houston north.... they are awful...
and i knew it was a dam problem as my wfie has a 3.0 SC RRS sport before and it didn’t do it, and now she has a full size RR 3.0SC...
so i opened a complaint and threatened legal action to JLR USA HQ in new jersey and they contacted me 3 times to give them credit , denied it at first , with a 2nd legal letter recognized it and then told me that they were making a new software update...
i actually got that 3 months ago and since then it’s perfect .... no laggy throttle and also no clunking like people have noticed ... mine is just as smooth as ever...
moral of story , JLR HQ do care and listen to us, so involve them and open a formal complaint if your dealer fobs you off.. it works.
Also all sonic dealers in houston are obnoxious clowns who think that as they have the monopoly of all 3 dealers in Houston that they can fob you off and gray you like an idiot... Thank god at last that Autonation has a new dealer where the service level is fantastic!!!

The accelerator lag is a real issue. People should file Lemon Law claims and maybe the arrogant LR management will take notice. I drive my wife's truck and it's a problem. It's not a quirky Brit thing, it's just poor accelerator software mapping. Figure is out and fix it.
I'm still struggling w/why I bought this thing w/the radio volume control on the right side - it's a Right Hand Drive car, understood. However, it's sold all over. I'm going to guess they sell more in Left Hand Driving countries than the other (wrong side) of the road.
Anyhow, back to accelerator lag - I'm being vocal about it and going to complain until they act.

I don’t understand how it went out the door with such a noticeable drivability issue, however it was fixed by a software update so I don’t mind too much...
As for the volume control, keep your hands on the wheel and use the control there, that’s what it’s for. Whenever a UK car company has prioritized left hand drive markets they get a lot of bad press in the UK and the ex colony markets that drive on the same side as the UK are a much bigger combined market than you might think. India buys enough Land Rovers that they have a factory there... however given the ***** are software driven I don’t see why Land Rover couldn’t map them depending on the loaded software being fir left or right hand drive...

We had the software update and though it seemed better at first it's now very obviously worse than ever. Ours has now been in the shop for a week+ and they are replacing some part of the turbo module. Not sure of the exact part(s) but will post once we get the car and paperwork with details.
