Default Looking for an after market trailer hitch

I just got myself a Discovery 5, but it does not have a trailer hitch. I really need it, but I'm having a really hard time finding a trailer hitch that I can install myself. Can anyone help? Dealer price for installing it is just ridiculous. Thanks

Just out of curiosity, what were you quoted at the dealer? I have seen ranges from $1500 to $2500. I believe there is a post on this forum of someone using Ford parts to do this which were significantly cheaper, they also listed the three official LR parts. May want to reach out and see about their success.

Thank you for your reply. I searched this forum and could not find anything about installing trailer hitch and using Ford parts. the only thread I saw was about using Ford parts for brake control. I only searched Discovery 5 threads. Is that post located somewhere else?

Looks like a CURT Trailer Hitch # 13396 would be an easy enough install.
And remember to get a Wiring Harness Adapter # C56297

thank you for the information, but I don't think this will work. These are all for Discovery Sport, and I have a Discovery. I think there is a big enough difference that may make that part not fit. I have to take a look under my car to see if there are three holes there that would fit this part. Discovery Sport is a smaller car, so I'm assuming it's a different frame. I'll do some more research and hope I'm wrong. It would be great if this fits.

There are actually two threads about the subject. The most relevant: https://landroverforums.com/forum/ne...w-hitch-88984/

Please continue there...

Any new options outside of the stealth hitch and OEM version? Only looking to carry 2 bikes and we currently have a swing away bike carrier that utilizes a 2" hitch.
