Motor Mounts
My driver side motor mount is shot on my SCV6. Local LR mechanic wants $1890 to replace both. Dealer wants $2860.
I am not inclined to do it myself, but I am tempted.
LR OE parts are about $300. Left and Right mounts are the same part.
Why so much labor cost?

I know up here in western Washington the average labor hour is $200+. The LR dealer in Tacoma is $236/hr. Depending on what needs to be removed to unweight and access the motor mounts for removal and replacement, that amount of time, is most likely the lions' share of the overall bill. Don't forget, the motor mounts may not be the only parts needed to complete the job. Any exhaust components that need to be removed will need new hardware and gaskets, etc... It can add up fast.
What are the effects/symptoms of the failure?
