Default Nitto Dura Grapplers?

Has anyone used these before? They are just considered a highway all season truck/suv tire but have a quite beefy tread, XL sidewall, and still H rated speed.

Being 60, I'm sure our hardcore offroading days are over but I need a XL tire out here where we live and the rocks at the cabin, decent tread for the muck, but still want a decent ride that H rated tires usually provide. Wish you could still get H rated Pirelli ATRs? I'd buy those again in a heartbeat. But since they started making tires for Ford trucks, they said screw the quality, went to S rating, and they're junk.

May still go with the Geolander G015 but I am giving these a look . . .

Falken has a couple of H-XL options too but their tires are so cheap I'm almost afraid to buy them . . . go figure?

Falken actually makes a pretty good tire. Lots of positive reviews on them here on the forum on other Land Rovers.

I would look at those if I was in the market. I just picked up a set of Goodyear Ultra Terrain for my LR3 and love them.

I wish I could still get the original Nitto Terra Grappler. I had H rated 255/60s on my Pepper that had great street manners for an ATR. And, they looked badass with plenty of off road prowess for my needs. Think I mentioned on another thread that I just started running them year round after we moved out here. The Terra Grappler G2s have gone to S and T rating like Pirelli did with their ATR. Customer reviews have gone down accordingly.

Don't need the H rating because I intend [or the wife intends] to drive the Disco 130mph [um regularly]. They are just better made tires in order to make the rating. Yeah, T is probably good enough.

I ran 3 sets of Nitto Terra Grapplers on my LR3, about 40K miles each set. The still had a few thousand miles left but I didn't like driving them with little tread. And they got noisy on the last 10K miles or so. My 4th set were the newer Terra Grappler and I didn't like the sound they made on dry pavement. Only had them for a couple thousand miles before I sold the LR3 and bought the D5.

So I don't plan to buy the new Terra Grappler for the LR3. I plan to buy the Yokohama G015 next month when I take off the Blizzaks. One thing about the G015 is that they have the snowflake symbol and should be a bit better in the winter when my Blizzaks are worn out and I run one tire year round. And the G015's have great reviews.

Good to know and they are still at the top of my list too. Just worried [for the wife's daily] even though they are a fairly tame ATR, they might still be a bit much for her. Might just boil down to which has a better price "IF/WHEN OUR DISCOVERY EVER FREAKIN GETS HERE!!!!"

Oh, sorry, was that loud? We are too old but we literally could have had a baby by now . . .

And it is built, shipped, and is "somewhere" between there and here, AND is still expected for next week delivery. But, they CANNOT tell me where?

Oops, rant alert! I'll shut up and take my meds now . . .

Just FYI for anyone considering these, the 275/55 are almost 11.5" inflated so they rub the spindle arm running up to the upper control arm. Had to exchange them for Yokohama Geolander G015s.
