While the number likely are right about at each clip, I wouldn't think they are a sequence order. Start at one end and work your way to the other, top or bottom.

 

I read the numbering as:
1. shift it down
2. then shift it over

maybe.

I'm not going to touch it until a couple weeks, after Uwharrie Safari next weekend.

 

A revision on this thread. I kept waiting on my molding to turn loose..... well on the way home from GARR it came loose. I pulled over and remover the 1 T30 screw.

I ordered the base piece and the outer molding.

I will take picture, and post up my molding install , when they arrive.
