Default Service Interval Reset

Changing my Td6 oil and filter next week. Does anyone know how to reset the service interval? It was not obvious in the online service manual. Thanks!

There is a sequence to follow, but it did t work for us. I believe I found it on YouTube.

i bought a GAP tool. I’m hoping it can do the reset. I’ll check the menu later today.

Got this from other forum. I have NOT tested it...Set the ignition to the ON position.Open the hood.Open the drivers door.NOTE: A service resetting message will appear on the instrument cluster.Fully depress both the accelerator and brake pedals and hold for 20-30 seconds.Set the ignition to the OFF position.Set the ignition to the ON position and check the message has been cleared. If the message remains, repeat the process.

There are a few software bulletins pertaining to the oil counter reset and issues. Something with corrupt data not letting the SIR to be performed. Happened to almost all of the my17 models and all of the my18 ive serviced. Not including the evoque or discovery sport.

I’ve followed it to the T and it did give me the resetting message then stated it was reset but it still shows zero miles till next servicing.

I follow the standard procedure and mine will say "interval resetting" but the miles to next service stays on zero. Some on the forum say they found expensive code readers that will reset it. And of course the dealer will reset it.

I fought JLR to the bitter end and lost. There is a bug, with the 2017 TD6, ( there may be other models included, I'm not sure) dealer will reset for free, or you buy a higher end scan tool. I bought the Launch CPR909.

I ended up just buying a DoIP handheld from Diagnostic Associates. It can check the oil level even when the instrument cluster isn't ready, force DEF regeneration, reset the regular and oil service intervals, and a few other things. Not cheap, but paid for itself after only a couple dealer services. At least that's what I told the SO. This was well before the GAP tool supported the 2017+ vehicles and from what I understand GAP still can't do the oil service reset on the diesels.
