Default In the shop again...

This will be #6 trip to the LR dealership for issues. Up to now, most have involved software updates...etc. I brought it in last week as I was getting a clunk/rubbing noise when hitting a small bump or rise in the road. I took the service mgr for a ride and, he heard it as well.....as it was in a couple weeks ago and they couldn't "replicate" the noise, but blamed it on a little kids mirror I had buckled on the passenger headrest..... Interesting as on my way home it did it again. They had been giving me a Jag FType as a loaner, which I didn't like very much....so I called but decided to wait till next oil change. Well...It got really bad. Brought the tech for a ride so he could hear it firsthand.
Turns out it was what I thought from the start...Bad Shock on the rear pass side.
Just throwing this out there in case anyone else hears a similar noise....At least they gave me a Velare as a loaner.

What year is your Disco and how many miles?
Was this warranty covered?

2018 D-5 5,200 miles.
I have to say if I didn't want the space the D-5 has...I could get into this Velar, I like it.

Wow! That's damn soon for a shock to go bad...had you hit anything significant?

Nope...It's a highway queen. I even take care to dodge potholes. Started out as an infrequent noise and progressed to a knocking/rubbing sound.

I also just had a rear shock/strut replaced. 3k miles on the D5 when I took it in, but I had noticed it pretty early on also...

Surprised that a new vehicle would have a bad shock right out of the box. Glad it was covered and went bad while under the warranty period.
Hoping this is it for awhile. I'm also glad the dealer is only about 10 miles from me...

No kidding. My dealer is about 2 hours away... I'm currently looking at selling the D5 for a 2016 LR4. I went from a 2011 LR4 to the D5- I'm not sure about the D5 yet. I still really, really miss the LR4.
