Default Software Update paused for eternity

Hi all, first time poster, long time lurker. Thanks for all the invaluable info and money you have saved me over the years avoiding the dreaded LR main stealers.
I couldn’t find an answer for my latest problem however so wondered if anyone can help me?
I was in the middle of a big software update on the InControl Touch Pro on a 2018 discovery 5 HSE that we had acquired second hand. An emergency happened and I switched off the car mid software update and it has never resumed no matter what I do? Dumb I know but done now. It still says updating but will not budge. (see pic) It has been 3 months now and I have had it running long periods connected to Wi-Fi and even done 12 hours with it connected to a personal hotspot. How do I reset this does anyone know? Disconnect the battery perhaps? Is there anyway to do it via USB like I managed with the Nav database update? It seems strange that it cannot recognise that the update is hung up and reset it. Quite frustrating, the current system works but I really want to get the Apple car play etc going. The vehicle software just checks for updates for hours without finding one also?

If anyone has experienced similar and knows the cure please advise.

Despite having the leaky windscreen and the steering menu buttons failing (both now fixed) I quite like the old girl despite saying I will never buy another Landi again I keep coming back for more punishment.

Cheers and keep up the good work.

James

My opinion is disconnect the battery... I do it every 6 months and it always clears out any issues (most are trivial).

After my last In Touch update my In Touch module fried. Maybe it was coincidence. But after months to get it diagnosed and repaired I will never do another update. Not worth taking the chance again.

Cheers
