Step by Step How to Reset the Service Interval
I posted about this previously and now have the answer. In the event you work on your own vehicle, you may want to reset the service interval after an oil change. Below are the steps. They must be accomplished in rapid succession and I suggest you read through all the steps before starting. This is tested and it works for my 2018 D5 Td6.
1 - sit in the drivers seat with all the doors and hood closed
2 - push the ignition button once, no foot on the brake, we do not want to start the vehicle (called position 2)
3 - with the door still closed, pop the hood with the hood release. This will bind on the door a little, but can be accomplished - just pull it.
4 - open the driver door and stay in the vehicle
5 - hold (depress) the gas and brake pedal for 60 seconds
6 - check the display - it should have reset and you are good to go from another 8000 miles (usually resets in about 15 seconds)
7 - close the hood
1 - sit in the drivers seat with all the doors and hood closed

3 - with the door still closed, pop the hood with the hood release. This will bind on the door a little, but can be accomplished - just pull it.

7 - close the hood
It shows resetting warning, then counter. When I check after- service is 0km

They have no plans to fix it.
I use the Launch CRP909 scan tool to reset mine. ( was the least expensive option )
Dealer will reset for free. (I am 100 miles from a dealer, they don't care.)
question though. When working properly, does this like come on at different mileage based on oil condition? i.e. does it have an input that would tell it the oil is diluted from DPF regen cycles?
Same issue here after one of the updates. My local dealership did it once for me (somehow) but then the next time refused and said if they didn't do the service they wouldn't reset it. I just let it ride it ride since it only pops up temporarily and I did my oil and mileage intervals.

2. Yes it detect oil dilution. It is important to reset it.
3. I bought a scanner to reset it myself, which sucks, but my dealer and indy shop is 80 miles away. Launch CRP 909
this issue still plaguing my 2019 D5 TD6. dealer updated cluster software ($220) and i was able to reset service at next oil change. 2nd oil change after cluster update and again i am unable to reset the service indicator. i will probably get a GAP IIL tool as "LR Time" channel on YouTube highly recommends it. Land Rover and their dealers seem to have a lot of ways to torture customers.
I tried it again today and confirmed that it worked with the driver door open.
So I've cut and pasted the instructions below and edited them to reflect the open driver's door.
This is for 2017 D5 HSE Si6.
1 - sit in the drivers seat with driver door open and hood closed

7 - push the ignition button to turn off your ignition
