Default Tailgate stuck

My 2020 Disco 5 tail gate is stuck in closed position. When I open it with remote or interior button. I see the door is trying to move but does not open. Any guidance on how to open without dealers help is much appreciated. what would be the fix for this?

Maybe try pushing it closed harder first. Or attempt to pull it open as it tries to open electrically.

Does the outside button by the rear camera work?

If so, open & close with that a few times and raise & lower the inside gate using the buttons on the left interior panel.

I accidentally shut the hood with a small object under the front edge. The latching was so tight that the hood release handle couldn't free it. I had to press down hard on the front of the hood while having my daughter pull the hood release handle, which (thankfully) freed the latch.

I tried multiple times. Some whining sound and force to move the door and doesn't open. I believe the release latch might have been broken.
Taking it to the dealer tomorrow.

Push from the inside with your legs while you try to open it?

Good luck!

That could cause more damage. IMHWO, it's time to throw in the towel and let the dealer fix it.

Went to the dealership nearby in north Dallas. Good god. They wanted two days wait time before they can pick the vehicle to diagnose.

Have to drop off next week

The dealer service techs will likely start by first removing the tailgate interior trim panel to get to the latch (after climbing into the cargo area from the inside). The applicable sections in the service manual (attached) show how to do that (but with the tailgate open).

Got the vehicle back from the dealership.

The fault was covered by CPO warranty. Dealer found improper alignment of tailgate. Resulting in striker getting too inside and latch release mechanism failed. Dealer fixed under warranty . Replaced with a new latch.
