For me this is normal and yes its always been my experience when the TD6 is stone cold. The PCM is limiting torque to preserve the engine during warm up. Putting the beans to a cold engine is bad for longevity.

Did your vehicle seem like it was going to stall out? Have recently been experiencing this, goes away once vehicle is to operating temperature.

Reminiscent of riding with someone who can't drive a manual transmission. Now that I'm anticipating it, easing onto the gas pedal limits the amount of lurching to very minimal. In the early days, it was total loss of power and then gas then total loss of power. I had suspected transmission confusion, but this makes more sense being cold weather and torque limiting. 98% of the day it is perfect. Only problematic within the first 10 mins of a drive when warming up and in stop and go traffic.
