Damn. I have the tuner and literally notice zero difference. The app connects and it seems to register the vehicle fine but putting it on and pulling it off, no super easy task, I get nothing. Wonder if there’s a way to fix this?

Do you get the light to come on in the tuner box under the hood? Before you even start the vehicle, regardless of the Bluetooth? O course, the first thing you would want to do is make sure you have all the connectors seated correctly, but I can't imagine you'd get the light to come on on the Tuner box and no CEL if you didn't have the two connectors installed correctly. Make sure they are seated in the correct, upright position.

The pics in the install guide are of an Sd6 but they otherwise work for our Td6's just as well. The boost sensor is easy to swap bu the fuel pressure sensor did take a bit of clamping force to pop put and unseat. I think it was at level 4 by default. Even stage 1 you should be able to notice. The turbo lag should be easy to discern and the torque is just immediate and immense from there. I know TDI Tuning has good customer support, I'm sure you can reach out to them and they could brainstorm with you on the first places to check.

as far as I know everything registered. The box responded to the different settings in my phone. The phone didn’t give any errors. I thought I was just gullible. Or that maybe there was a software issue. I’ll have to give it another shot I’ve hung onto everything. Glad you’re seeing success I def would love to see your results. My only comfort in this was knowing it had to be connected right or the disco itself wouldn’t work.

Did you ever get the TDI Tuning box to work for you? If you had the light on the tuner box and no CEL, you could try moving it around from level 1 to level 7 and even turn it off completely via Bluetooth, so surely you would be able to discern between the two. If there is anything I could help you with, PM me and I'd be happy to get on a Google Duo call with you and show you mine.

So I installed mine today and have driven it about 40 or 50 miles.

Hard to discern a ton of difference, tbh. I’ve got it set on 7 and still experience some throttle lag but the boost feels strong when it comes on. But it was always reasonably strong.

I’ll let it dial in for a week and report back.

I suggest a good diesel additive if you aren't already doing so. A good additive will protect your injectors, restore lost lubricity, and increase the cetane which is analogous to octane with your gasoline/petrol. I used to run 8oz of Stanadyne Performance Formula for years and then tried OptiLube products, where I was running 4oz shots comprised of their Summer formula, lubricity, and a cetane boost. Now I'm running 2oz shots of Hot Shot's Secrets Everyday Diesel Treatment. I think my motor likes it.

Try and find diesel from a place the go through diesel regularly as opposed to diesel that may be old because it doesn't get a lot of traffic. Up to B5 is okay because it restores the lubricity lost with the switch to ULSD (2007), but try and avoid any more than that. The Ford owner's manual for the F-150 Powerstroke says if you run biodiesel (does not distinguish percentage,) it suggests running a 5w-40 CK-4 oil. (I think an ACEA C3 oil is better.)

On the tuner, remember (it's even easier if you have the B/T module) you can go from stage 7 to stage 1 and even turn the tune off. If you're not certain if you're able to notice anything, put your tuner on 1 (or even off,) run a small route, and then try it again say on stage 7. I'd be surprised if you can't tell the difference.

I know the Bluespark version I had on my Pepper came on C6 which improved throttle response and mpgs but not much else. I put it on D9 for all out performance which is where I saw a full second off 0-60. I would suspect this tuner to have similar setting variation. I wish I knew for sure we were keeping ours beyond the lease. I would gladly get another Bluespark LR version and add it to the information pile here. But, I still have to get P2002 fixed period and run the vehicle long enough to make sure the DOA problem resulting in this latest Battery Ground Stud recall to see if that fixes it once and for all before that can happen. I would not normally buy residual but intentionally did this since these LRs have some known [um] finicky-ness . . . for lack of a better word? Worst case, I wanted to be able to walk away without worrying about having low trade value or resale. Beyond our [2] problems that are more about my dealer's inability to fix stuff . . . we still love this vehicle [knock on wood].

Any updates on the tuning front?

We are buying our residual and keeping it. I may go back to Bluespark but interested if anyone has seen noticeable differences with others?

Honestly, I didn't see much improvement with the TDI Tuning kit. This was after almost a year of use.

I finally just uninstalled it.
