Water pump and head gasket failure
Hello
I am new to the forum scene and no mechanic.
I brought a 2017 Land Rover Discovery 3.0 supercharged HSE Si6 9 months ago and this week it broke down.
The diagnostic is water pump failure which has caused head gasket failure. The dealer warranty and Land Rover been really unhelpful. So after some advice is this a common fault and should I be chasing Land Rover as it has only done 40,000 miles
any help would be much appreciated

Water pump leaking is a relatively common issue across Jag and LR. It's typically not a massive leak but guess it's possible that it could leak fast and dump the coolant
What happened - did you overheat the engine and warp the block? It should give you a warning for low coolant and for overheating
Not sure what the question is re warranty. Yes / if you have a warranty then you should absolutely chase for it to cover this. Doesn't matter if it's common or not
But a 2017 is prob out of warranty - did you buy an aftermarket warranty?
