Just had a new set of Wildpeak AT4W installed and they are rubbing quite a bit, even without maximum turn and rubs both front and back of the wheel well. Also seems to be worse at offroad height. Any suggestions, I thought 275/55R20 was safe.
I knew they weren't a standard size, from reading the forums it seems 275/55/20 works except for super aggressive tires that are out of spec. Guess I should have gone with one of the proven ones.
I run Mickey Thompson Baja Boss AT 275/55/20 with no rods and have zero rubbing. I do put Lucky 8 rods rods on when I hit the trails (I have all 3 lengths), but switch back to the OEM standard for pavement since it only takes 5 minutes.
It seems, I just got really unlucky (read stupid), AT3W 275-55-20 seem to fit as do many others, but not the AT4W. Now I need to find a way to unload them without taking too much of a hit.

no worries, things happen.
all the best mate, hopefully you're able to offload the AT4s

Probably just me but those tires look a lot shorter in the sidewall than I'd expect from a 275/55R20. Are you certain of your wheel/tire combination? I run 275/55R20 Goodyear Duatracs and they're pretty aggressive (and noisy) and have had no issue. Could just be perspective in the photos
You had me second-guessing myself but I checked, it is indeed 275-55-20. Partner declared situation was unacceptable and to get tires asap, so I ended BFG Trail Terrain in 255-55-r20. I didn't get to do much research, had to pick what was in stock. I'm already having nightmares of multiple flats and sidewall rips.
My D5 came with 21s which are likely horrendous offroad.
Bought a set of 19s from a local offerup so I can use that set for camping trips. Hopefully 19s provide enough sidewall
