Those Blizzaks in the 255/55/20 would be my choice for a dedicated winter tire especially considering the price difference.
If ours ever gets here, I'd like to run some fairly tame ATR tires year round like the new Continentals. Slightly over sized at 275/55/20. Won't be as good as a dedicated snow tire but better out here in the sticks and up at 9000 ft yet more than adequate in the snow and ice from the reviews.
I decided to go with the Blizzak DM-V2
My factory tires are 255/55/R20 and I decided to use the same wheels all year. The Nokians don't come in 255/55/R20 at least not that they show on their website. Discount Tire does list an older model in that size but they are out of stock.
I looked again and cleared my search criteria, you are right they do have 255/55/R20 in the R3 and also the 9 studded (probably others too but I was looking at those).
However when I click on list dealers I can't find any that carry those sizes.
Discount Tire only lists the R2 and it is out of stock.
