Smile 1st post and a thank you

Hello everyone.

This is my first post, but i have used this site many times. I purchased a 01 d2 from a buddy for 1500 7 weeks ago. Runs and has ac.

With the help of you and these forums, ive been able to work on my d2. I replaced the plugs and wires, fuel filter, valve cover gaskets and intake gaskets, got a used icv from ebay for 20 bucks and some other cosmetic stuff from ebay used.

Did the three amigos fix, option b on ABS Mod - LAND ROVER CLUB V.I.

Havent cleared the code yet as i dont have the abs tool.

but with more research, i am wondering if the ecu was never told that it has coils. so i dont know if that will cause the 3a too?

Bosch plat plus 4, $3.39 ea from advanced auto parts using online coupon codes.

OEM Brake Stop Switch # XKB100170 @24.95 on ebay, went with oem instead of aftermarket.

Kingsborne 8mm IGN 790 wires.$35.87 plus shipping. $48 total.

cleaned throttle body and MAS and cleaned the new / used icv valve.

Wix fuel filter from autozone.

15w x 40 rotella t will do t6 next time but they didnt have the 15x40.
cheap fram oil filter for this round. will order a better one next time.

edit: also added 1 qt lucas.

ICV, Gaskets and other used items where purchased from ebay.

If anyone is in the Austin area and has a hawkeye coded for the d2, and would like to help me reset three amigos and see if has been programed to coils send me a pm.

With your help, i have been able to fix many ses codes, the air bag light (was wire under seat), and im sure you'll be there for future problems as well.

Thanks for all your help.

William.

Good idea on the switch from FRAM. Wix and others are much better.

i only went with the fram because that was all they had at the time. and wanted to change it right away. hope the rotella t will clean up the engine a little bit, was pretty nasty when i took the valve covers off.

I put in some engine flush then drained and put in rotella t. figured i would put a 1000 or 2000 and change it again. and clean the oil pan this time.

Good idea. Never know what you will find with a Rover. Semper Gumby - always flexible

Look into the UltraGauge for your ride. It's a great little product for $60, and it will read your codes and clear them. A lot if guys on here use it.

ive been wanting to get a better code reader and will look into the ultraguage.

I would like to get the hawkeye so I can read and clear my three amigos or even the $200 three amigos would work. but cant afford either atm.

Ive been using a cheap harbor freight reader that my buddy has.

thanks for the tip

Definitely get an Ultra-Gauge. I picked one up for my D2 and it has been extremely helpful in the only two weeks since I got my truck. I also used it to diagnose and repair my dad's PT Cruiser too (shop wanted like $400 to fix it)
