3rd Rover, 1st Disco, New to LRForum, I'm gonna need you guys!
After owning 2 classic RR's, and enjoying the many thrills of wheeling in Eastern Tennessee years ago, I dove head first (without checking to see if there was any water) into owning a 2000 D2. After months of scanning Craigslist for possible projects I found an extremely nice and well-cared-for D2 that had the typical front shaft fail. At first glance yesterday it appears to have only beat the snot out of the trans pan (it fell off when I unloaded the D2 off the trailer haha). Today it goes up on the lift for my first real inspection. Wouldn't it just be wonderful if a new tranny pan and front shaft is all I need to get rolling??? I am sooooo optimistic
Updates to follow. Also, I know I am going to need drivers side headlight, turn signal, and possibly bumper parts. Any ideas on the best place to order, besides eBay? The D2 will reside in Greenville, NC but I am based out of Nashville, TN and travel all around VA, NC, SC, and TN for work. Good meeting you!

Hi there - from WA (Western Australia!! that is). I am seeking a Series II V8 Auto! have had two Series 1 in the past - love that V8 sound!! That 1950's V8 Buick engine sure had the sounds right! The Poms made it even better!! For as long as there is petrol, what a way to use it!! All the best

FOLLOW UP: I wound up needing a transmission and found one for $300 from Tidewater Rovers right down the road in Wilmington, NC. After reading several negative reviews about them online I figured I would go check them out for myself and possibly roll the dice. They seemed OK so I went ahead and bought the transmission and a few other parts from them. Now I am up and rolling. I already took the Disco to the beach and have put over 500 miles on her in the last week or so. I have slowly been double checking everything in the "must do" list. Next up is changing the coolant over to green. Thank you to everyone on here for good advice!
